I’m really pleased to be able to announce a couple more UK dates. 13th May in Bath and the 19th in Plymouth. Apologies to our friends in the North, if anyone fancies inviting me to perform at their local or even in their home, don’t be shy of contacting me directly.
I’m thrilled that support for the Launch Party at the Slaughtered Lamb on 10th May is from a friend of mine called Tom McKean who’s a great character with great songs and a great voice. Should be a great night but it’s a small venue so get your tickets from http://www.wegottickets.com/event/75831

As mentioned previously Blood, Fish and Bone finally gets a UK release on the 10th May (although you can buy it now from here or download in the usual places), and I’m very happy to say that I will be launching the album on the 10th at the Slaughtered Lamb in London. Other UK dates should be announced in the next few days including a launch party (well one’s not enough) on the Isle of Wight.

As I sit here sipping my ‘vintage 2007′ sloe gin, I thought it only right to share it round. Here’s a little taster from the forthcoming ‘Blood, Fish and Bone’.

At long last the new album has a UK release date of the 10th May. There will hopefully be some long overdue UK dates, who knows, maybe even a little tour. Seeing as Evermine never came out over here this will be the first since Songs Without Words in 2003. I’m approaching Blue Nile levels of tardiness here, but with the next album already written there can be no excuses for such a prolonged absence again, and if there is, I promise I’ll get a note from my mom.

The release of my new album Blood, Fish and Bone in Germany has attracted some very kind reviews. Here are some of the kindest (In German then English):
Das ist wunderbar. Der auf der Isle Of Wight lebende Paul Armfield singt, als ob permanent die Sonne untergeht. Das Meer rauscht ruhig an die Küste und die Lieder dazu sind wie guter Whiskey, alter, gut abgelagerter Brand. Elf Folklore-Stücke von Lebenslust und Melancholie!”
(Volly Tanner, Zeitpunkt-Kulturmagazin Leipzig)
This is wonderful, from the Isle of Wight Paul Armfield sings as if the sun is always setting. The sea crashes on the shore and the songs come like a fine, matured whiskey. Eleven folk pieces of love, life and melancholy. [Read more →]
